Most of the girls wants to have dreamy fairy tale home, but they may have no ideal about where to begin. The renovation case in Vision City, Tsuen Wan can give you some inspirations to create your own candy house!
Basic information
Vision City in Tsuen Wan / Saleable area 508 sq. ft. / Two bedrooms and one living room /Cost is about HK$350,000 (excluding electrical appliances, sanitary ware, bricks and tiles) / Number of occupants, 1 adult
The owner of this apartment is a lady who invited Jeffrey’s father to renovate the apartment 10 years ago. Today, 10 years later, it is handed over to Jeffrey to take over the same apartment again for renovation. This is a big challenge for Jeffrey, representing the trust and recognition of his family.
The owner hopes to have a younger look and special home. She especially likes macaron colour system. The low saturation macaron colour system is light, soft and sweet, which perfectly blends the dream of a girl and the femininity of a woman. Therefore, this renovation case focuses on colour, which highlights the youthful and fashionable feeling in matching.
Living room design: Refreshing and western atmosphere, with collection of mural as the feature wall
The living room uses mint green as the wall colour to give a refreshing and western feeling. In addition, the dado made of white wooden slats is similar to the white fence commonly seen outside seaside huts in old American movies. It can also increase the refreshing feeling of the room like having sea breeze.
The owner likes collecting all kinds of girlish works. She requested Jeffrey to arrange space for displaying a cute little deer mural in the living room as a feature wall. When she works at home in the open studio, she can look at her beloved collection.
The customized powder-blue C-shaped cabinet at the entrance has a special design. In addition to the double-sided cabinet as a porch screen, Jeffrey added a black iron frame to the C-shaped cabinet and raised it off the ground because of the pet to make it easy to clean while transmitting light.
Studio design: create an open studio with a half-waist height desk
The apartment originally had two bedrooms and one living room. Jeffrey removed the wall of a small bedroom facing the living room and turned it into a half-waist-high desk. The open studio enlarges the space of the living room and makes the layout unique.
The pink wall cabinet in the studio uses glass as the panel door, with small round wooden door handles and soft yellow light, reminiscent of a cup cabinet in an English cottage. This is also a good place for the owner to display her collections. In addition, we added the wavy frame lines to the pink wall cabinets, curtain covers, and entrance cabinets in the studio. The small decorative frame line can greatly increase the sweetness of the home.
Bathroom design: black slide rail with shell warehouse hanging door. Hexagonal tiles bring out the modern sweetness
Toilets are generally soundproofed and deodorized by shutter doors. Because the owner lives alone, Jeffrey believed that there were more choices. He chose a nostalgic pink shell storage door with black slide rails. Black slide rails can increase the modern feel of the home and bring a sense of balance to the pink shell warehouse hanging door.
The interior of the bathroom is very different from the dreamy and sweet style outside, adopting a relatively modern sweet style. Since the owner was not interested in traditional bathtub tiles, Jeffrey and the owner chose more than 10 non-repetitive hexagonal tiles for the bathroom wall and floor tiles. The tiles colour is not vibrant, but the patterns are delicate, which can highlight the solid-colour wooden frames, mirrors, washstands, etc., bringing out the simpler and modern sweetness.
Bedroom design: English country floral wallpaper, dreamy white ladder leading to the bed
The wall of the bedroom is stuck with British country-style floral wallpaper. Since the ceiling height has 10 feet, Jeffrey used the popular dark wooden platform for making extra storage space, and put a white staircase leading to the bed on the upper floor.
Kitchen design: Stylish but cute with details
Jeffrey likes the kitchen design the most. The colour scheme of the kitchen is very different from the living room. Black, white and grey are used as the colour of the cabinet. Equipped with classical European-style concave-convex pattern door panels and knobs, the kitchen is stylish and cute.
There are lots of details in kitchen. Jeffrey recommended the famous Blum door hinged cabinet barrel rail. In order to make the kitchen more interesting, the wall is made of Italian handmade tiles. And the characteristic Hello Kitty built-in flat stove is used. The pink stove is especially lovely in black, white and grey colour scheme.
