In this episode of Anthony’s DIY workshop, we’ll look at how to clean your painting tools. First, let’s talk about how to clean a paint brush.
This is what you’ll need: newspaper, a bucket, and some water of course.
First, scrape off the excessive paint on the rim of the paint can. Then, paint on a piece of newspaper to remove the paint left on the brush.
After most of the paint is removed, prepare a bucket of water.
Then, dunk the brush into the water. Give it a thorough massage to rub all the paint off. Repeat twice and you’re good to go!
Leave it to dry and now your brush is completely clean.
Remember, before leaving it to dry, straighten the corners of the brush.
Next, we’ll talk about how to handle brushes that were smeared with oil-based paint.
In fact, you don’t have to clean it right after each use.
When you use the brush for another paint job, pour thinner into the paint bucket. Soak the brush into the thinner, until all the paint has come off. Now, the brush is ready to use.
What about paint rollers? It’s actually pretty simple.
Remove the paint on a paint tray. Then, like how we clean a paint brush, remove the paint left on a piece of newspaper.
With a bucket of water, rub off the remaining paint.
Repeat twice. When the roller is fairly clean, leave it to dry and it’ll be ready to use again.
Cleaning painting tools is just this easy. See you next time, bye!
