Hi, in this episode of Anthony’s DIY Workshop, we’ll look at how to drill clean holes in ceramic tiles.

You’re going to need a cup of water.

There are two ways to do it. For the first method, you’ll need a diamond grit hole saw, a stabiliser and a chisel. For the second one, you’ll need a carbide-tipped drill bit, and a drill of course!

Let’s look at the first method. After mounting the diamond grit hole saw, switch the drill to forward mode.

Place the stabiliser and press it tightly against the tile.

Dip the hold saw in water, and drill in perpendicularly against the tile.

After some moment, remember to add water to avoid overheating.

Use a chisel to remove tile residue from the hole saw after each use.

This is the second method. With a carbide-tipped drill bit, you can forgo using a stabiliser.

Direct the drill 90 degrees straight at the tile and you can start drilling.

No matter which method you are using, remember to apply pressure and push the drill down towards the tile.

Pause to add water as you drill, or else your drill bits might be burnt!

Follow these steps so that your ceramic tiles won’t crack!

See you next time, bye!
