Differences between Silicone Sealant and Caulk
Silicone Sealant and Caulk looked similar and used on similar situations. Caulk can be used to fill the gap, but it is not used for pasting. The price of it is cheaper than Silicone Sealant, also it has more colors to choose from. Not like Silicone Sealant, Caulk is not suitable for use in damp places.
Where can Caulk be used?
Caulk can be used for sealing gaps & joints where colour matching & enhancement is required. e.g. window and door frames, cabinets / cupboards, kitchens,
skirting boards and architraves. It is also suitable for many different materials such as timber, masonry, plasterboard, brick, ceramic tiles, glass and aluminium and so on.
How to Caulk with a Caulking gun?
Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust, grease, flaking/powdery paint and old or crumbling Caulk. Cut the seal and nozzle and fit to cartridge. Insert into Caulking gun. And then you can apply with caulking gun, forcing product into gap. After Caulking it can be smooth with a wet finger or spatula. Finally, clean up with a damp cloth immediately.
